Until recently, the property was occupied by a family in need of temporary accommodation and remains in a condition that would allow a new owner to begin using it with relatively little preparation.
The electrical system will require updating, while any improvements to the water supply and drainage systems can be planned according to the property’s future use. With some localized work to the flooring and other areas, there is no immediate need for extensive renovation. The house has been kept in sufficiently good condition to be lived in while improvements are carried out gradually over time.
Particularly appealing are the traditional storehouse and the garage and workshop building, both of which retain their original character while remaining functional. The spacious grounds also provide parking for several vehicles.
Miyatake-machi in Nomi City developed as a historic commercial district, with sake breweries, soy sauce producers, offices, and other businesses lining its streets. The property is situated in a quieter residential area just behind the former commercial center.
In the nearby hills are the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) and the Ishikawa Science Park, creating an international environment that attracts researchers and students from Japan and abroad.
The property is also located approximately midway between Komatsu Airport and central Kanazawa, with each around a 30-minute drive away. It offers a balance of abundant natural surroundings and convenient access to the region’s principal urban and transport centers.
The property could, of course, be passed on as a private residence. Its scale, setting, and range of buildings also open up many other possibilities: a whole-house short-stay accommodation, subject to obtaining a simple lodging business licence (kan’i shukusho) under Japan’s Hotel Business Act, an auberge, a gallery, a combined home and studio for an artist, craftsperson, or musician, a business base requiring storage and workshop space, or a place for local gatherings and cultural exchange.
Viewings are available for prospective buyers who are seriously considering a purchase. Please note that we are unable to accommodate visits for sightseeing or general interest in traditional houses. As viewing dates are limited, advance reservations are required. Please contact us for further details.
